Baseball Drops Regular Season Finale Against Butler, 3-2

The UIC baseball team fell in its final regular season game of the 2012 season against Butler on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 3-2 at Les Miller Field. The Flames held an early 2-0 lead after the first two innings, but gave up three unanswered Bulldog scores to close out the affair.

Flames fans can tune into the final regular season game of the UIC Baseball season Saturday, when the Flames aim for a three-game sweep over Butler at Les Miller Field beginning at 1:05 p.m. Justin Weiner will kick things off with the pre-game show at 12:50 p.m., and will also link into the postgame “Senior Day” ceremony, featuring Chris Hoffman.
Flames Down Butler in Game Two on Friday Night, 11-2

The UIC baseball team captured the series win over Butler in game two of the three-game set on Friday night by a final score of 11-2 at Les Miller Field. Redshirt junior Nick Addison belted his first career grand slam in the fifth frame en route to an eight-run inning for the Flames. Freshman Pitcher Brian Evak collected his fifth win of the season as he lasted five innings, allowing just six hits and one earned run.
Flames Claim Victory in Game One over Butler, 5-2

Junior pitcher Joey Begel allowed a mere four hits and one run in eight innings of work as the UIC baseball team (18-31, 11-16) triumphed over Butler (21-31, 9-19) on Thursday night, 5-2 at Les Miller Field. The right-hander held the Bulldogs scoreless through five frames, picking up his sixth win of the year and the 11th on his career.
The UIC baseball team welcomes Horizon League-foe Butler to Les Miller field this weekend for its final three-game series of the 2012 regular season. The trio of contests begins on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT with Friday and Saturdays’ games starting at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. The Flames have won 17 out of the last 18 meetings against the Bulldogs and currently ride a 15-home game winning streak when facing Butler.
